a program of national workshops on risk factors and prevention strategies

MOPS Points

For RACP members, attendance at a workshop qualified for Maintenance Of Professional Standards Points (MOPS points) in the College's self-reporting scheme.

Workshops Completed

Falls Prevention for Older People was a series of workshops on risk factors and prevention strategies. The 1-day workshop were run between February and May 2004 at thirteen locations across Australia.

Workshop Agenda

Each workshop featured core sessions on risk factors and strategic interventions (see below), however, local presenters varied from state to state. Injury prevention coordinators from state health departments provided useful resource information.

Who ran and funded the workshops?

The workshops were run by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and has been funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing. The financing was allocated through the National Falls Prevention for Older People Initiative.
